3 battles at Bellerophones Fall. Lots of pictures...

This week has been  full of gaming for me.
On Tuesday I played 2500p the mission MaBF against Chris Lamenters.

I like taking a corner with a building occupy it with the devastators and Issodon
 inside it. For those who dont know him he is the chaptermaster of the Raptor, I selected him for this mission.
He give the enemy reserves -1 to their roles, changes combat tactics to stealth and does a glancing hit to a vehicle or d6 wounds to a unit before the game starts.

So I deployed my forces as shown bellow, devastators on top and underneath sternguard with Librarian.
Razorback next to it with capatain and comand squad . phinos around trying to keep the enemy away. And 5 marines with a lascannon on another building.

Troops in Rhinos /razzorbacks (assault marines count as command squad)

Chris storm raven was carrying Mefisto and a dreadnaught.
and saguinary guard near them. Assault marine deploy near the lascannon squad.
Chris rolled a tota lof 4 to see who goes first I could not beat that.

Issodon glances the baal and detroys the big flamer.
Turn 1a.
2 pods come from the sky.
 Mephisto, death company dread, normal dread, and sanguinary guard attack my 9 terminators.
7 termies die, I did 3 hits to mephisto but rolled 2 1's. I lose i flee, i roll a 6 mephisto rolls 1. I escape.
Assault marines blow up my rhino and asault , i lose by 1 i flee and go 5 inches.he consolidates near me.
Ball moves and flames 4 of my 5 scouts to death. Tellon is happy hanging around the burning corpes of his once apprentices. Librarian dread maches the razorback to pieces.

Tunr 1b.
Pod arrives ironclad "protos" shoots mephisto and does another wound he then assaults him, mephisto attempts to becaume str10 but the librarian cut him off. unable to wound the ironclad mefisto suffers another 2 wounds and loses by 2 needing to take another 2 armor saves cause he is fearless, chris unlucky rolles snake eyes (1 wound would have done it).
terminators and marines can not regroup so they run a bit more , very close to the table edge.
5 Sternguard blow up the librarian dread with combi melta.
1 tactical takes care of the other dread with melta combi melta, the captain joins that unit while the command squad go to face the sanguininors.  I kill 2 chris kills 2 its a draw.
I shout the baal miss assault it and forget i have a fist (seriously in a game of 2500p I think I proxied 7 modles and that was one of it. arggg)
Lasscanon hit stormraven and it cant move or shoot next turn.

Death company dont come in.
Baal burns 2 sternguard, and does a wound on my librarian.
The bikers shoot 3 meltas at my ironclad and immobilize twice so they also destroy the seismic hammer.
Death company dread slices up my command squad.

Turn 2b
The 2 terminators can not regroup and run off so does the tactical.
3 devastators shooting at the death dread i hits does not even glance.
tactical with marines shoot and assault the bikes unforunatly a single biker lives and holds them in combat.
Lasscannon misses.

Turn 3a
death company pod in. shoot my sternguard so do the assault marines i think i am left with 2 sternguard and a librarian I think. Storm raven shoots all its got to the steranguard.  Death dread assaults my tactical and captain, biker dies 2 marines  die we lose by one but hold. librarian dies in combat by the assault marines with librarian and priest.

Turn 3b.
Lassacanon misses again.
cant wound the death dread It takes some wounds off my captian.
devastators take down some assault marines.

Turn 4a.
captain dies
and issodon dies in combat by death company

Turn 4b lascanon hits the stromraven but fails to glance.
4-0 for the lamenters in 4 turn. It was a good brutal game.

Wednesday 30 of April
I was happy painting yesterday my chapter masters head in store when Harry and Michael asked my if i want a game since their opponents could not make it. They offered me to be the attacker but I wanted another chance in the middle. I played first and won.  the list was almost the same with my 2500 without  the command squad the snipers and the ironclad. I have had thoughts to take out Lias Issodon to get back combat tactics and a chapter master but yesterday he immobilized a LR at the beggining of the game.

Tommorow I will write a conclution of phase 1, announce the bonus for the Seccesionists and the mission we can play in phase 2.

Another Massacre at Bellerophon's Fall taking place tomorrow.

Another Massacre at  Bellerophon's Fall taking place tomorrow, this time its
 Robs Salamanders + Elliots Hawks vs Harry's Space wolfs and Michaels Black Templars.
I myself am having a 2500p games vs the Lamenters of Chris  (same scenario) on the last day of the month. So no painting for me but alot of building. I asked for this size game because gw is having a weekend campaign and the 1st mission is Massacre at  Bellerophon's Fall  2500p.

Not much to show today, I will take loads of pictures tomorrow though.

Campaign update.

2 Weeks left for the end of Phase one.

Yesterdays Games:
Red Scorpions and Ultramarines incinerate Hawks and Angels! (Did you like my word play?)
Imperial guard win Black templars in Objectives. 9-2 for sucessionists.
Elam Courbray heavily wounded. (-1 W)
Next week I am going to skip gaming and get some modeling and painting done and prepare for one final game of Massacre at B. against Lamenters on the last Tuesday of the month.
Not much else to report.

Fire Hawks claim their first victory for the Loyalists. 2nd in Rampage.

Fire hawks win 1000p of executioners and bring home the first point for the loyalists.
I used my standard 1000p list
Captain Elam Courbray.
2 tactical squads
razorback drop pod
9 asault marines
2 attack bikes both with melta

Dan had
5 Terminators
2 tactical squads in rhino
5 devastators lascannon plasma cannon

1 objective each Dawn of war.
Dans rols were a bit unlucky especialy when my tactical unit from the drop pod did 2 melta gun wounds and 8 normal wounds, 1 instantly died from the melta gun wounds and so did the other four because all of his four 2d6 had a 1 or a 2 in them. Then he had a bad combat round were his 10 marines assaulted the tactical unit that had just killed the devastators and did 1 wound (powerfist) so the batle went on for 2 rounds until the assault marines charged in to give a helping hand.

We have another game of the special scenario for next Tuesday. Fire Hawks with Fire Angels (Ollie) vs ultramarines (David) and Red scorpions (Scotty). we have put Ultramarines on the succesionists and Scotty just wanted to play a game with his mate David, hopefully he will return to the loyalists after this. But i shall now no fear because I have the luckiest dice roller Ollie

2nd in Rampage
Actually with Ollie 2 weeks ago  we came second out of 40 teams in GW rampage (a doubles tournament in warhammer world)

I took 9 noice marines in a rhino 2x2 obliterators( I know what you are thinking but what do you do when you face a list that has 2 lr in 1500p) and  slanesh sorcerer with lash.
Ollie took a big mek with field a deff dread 20 boys 12 boys in truck some nobs in truck war buggy.

Sergeant Preceptor Mallus, GW Badab war weekend.

I need to sort my holidays so I can be sure. In the campaign we are allowed to use forgeworld models and rules. Most of them can be found on IA2 and 9.

DREADNOUGHT DROP POD (Lucius pattern).

I have benn thinking of  writing a 2500p lists for the first mission.
Its the same as the battle played bellow in this blog.
I need 3 hq's, and I was thinking 2500p and the attackers objective is to kill the HQa of the loyalist creating a headless body unable to operate.
So I was thinking 2 loyalists forces meet on ground to establish a plan, they get ambushed, the 5th chapter deepstrikes withing minutes in order to save their chapter master on what was supposed to be a secret meeting. So I am thinking of 2 chapter masters, 1 of the Fire Hawks and one of the Marines Errant the third hq could be the Damocles Rhino. I know its very risky in this mission. The fire hawks Chapter master would be in a LR Redeemer with a terminator guard. While the Marines Errant would be in a LR or a rhino with some honour guard.  I am also thinking of a venerable dread naught and  sternguard andd vanguard vets.
Nothing is final and it will probably change, but what do you think?

Massacre at Bellerophon's Fall- Battle report.

Last night myself, David , Chris and Dan played the Massacre at Bellerophon's Fall mission
You can find the details of the mission on a older post.
Our lists were:

It was a 4 player game so I dont remember all the details please forgive my mistakes and spelling errors.

our 3 hq's Elam Courbray, Chief Librarian Merrin and a Chaplain.

This was our setup

the Lamenters rhino, razorback, dread, and the 2 executioners tactical /rhino are in reserve.

Turn 1.

The seccestionist win the dice roll and go first.
The Terminators move in and one terminator smashes the vindicator in turn1.
Devastator don't do much.
The baal scouts and burns 4 of the fire hawk assault marines and Elam suffers a wound, then they fail their leadership and in their panic they run through the rusty ruins and 2 marines fall through the floor and die.

On our turn we decide to bring in the librarian and the 5 exorsists via pod.
no scater all ok.
Elam regroups his men, directs them to the baal and they smash it.

Merrin forces the terminators to reroll their inv saves and razor back, firehawks and exorsists open fire. leaving 1 terminator which will fail its ld and run away.

The exorsist assault marines and chaplain shoot and charge the 5 devastators, too excited they are though and 2 (or 3) die  impaling themselfs on industrial rusty spikes before getting in combat. they kill 3 devastators and the devastators hold.
Firehawks with lascanon kill 1 devastator or the other side of the table.

Assault marines ready to assault the baal/destroyed vindicator from termies

Turn 2.
Nightfight begins

Chris brings in his sanguinary guard and assault the chaplain/assault marines still in combat with the devastators. The saguinary guard kill the unit and the chaplain and tries to consolidate into cover.
The terminator regroups and tries to assault the razor back but fails.

On our turn Elam fly's with his unit to the center of the table.
The fire hawk drop pod enters and the marines open fire on the sanguanary.
The sangunary take heavy fire power from razor back and exorsist, leaving one model which dies in the assault, Merrins consolidation is not enough to put him in cover. Previously he tried null zone on the lone terminator but suffers a wound and fails to cast(6,6). He is now literally with his back to the wall.

Exorsists in rhino and lascanon on roof finish off the devastaror squad on the other side of the table.
Shooting from fire hawks is just enough to take the terminator down.

Fire hawks have just shoot the last terminator.

End of turn 2 /Beggining of turn 3. Dan prepares to bring in 2 tactical units in rhino, Merrin nervously looks around.

Turn 3.

Lamenters rhino and dreadnaught enter so do the executioner's 2 rhinos.
Crazy dreadnaugh is able to see, shoot and blast the predator which explodes which wound all 4 marines next to it, which kills 1 marine and the sergeant.

There was a predator seconds ago where the template is, that dreadnaught must be carring a fallen sniper.
Dan places nicely his 2 rhinos obcuring the firehawks path.

Exorsists disembark  and Merrin shouts: "The emperor protects". But will he?...

...off cource not!

On our turn,
Victory is lost we can fight for a draw.
Fire hawks move to attack, razor Back fires the rhino trying to open a path for the other marines but fails.
Elam approches.
In combat things dont go well for the fire hawks, executioner chaplain slays 3 marines while my power fist kills 2 and 3 more die from marines. Exorsist lose by 1 or 2 but hold their ground.

Attack bikes do one melta wound which is save by cover, twin linkes bolters fail, the bikes assault do no damage while the exorsist sergeant "fists" an attack bike to a violent death. the other attack bike escapes.

Turn 4
The other tactical comes in and the finish the fire Hawks unit. Librarian and assault marines are still not showed up.

our turn Elam Courbray bravely with one marine on his side charges into a unit of executioners
Elam slays 3-4   fellow marine suffers a wound as so does he and then the power fist wounds him once but the emperor protects! (iron halo). Having won combat Elam does a hit and run move into the crater.
On the other side attack bike blows up  Rhino.

Turn 5
Librarian and assault marines show up.
melta guns psycic power bolters pistols all fail to wound Elam as he strugles for his life.
The exorsist charge sergeant and marine but are cut down before they get a chance.
Elam consolidates into cover.

On our turn marines on top shoot with lasscannon the rhino but fail to hit.

Target practice agaist Elam.

We roll to see if there is a turn 6 and there is..
Turn 6

Librarian power finaly gets the best of Elam as he falls to his wounds.

on our turn a drop pod kills the special character of the exorsists.

Outcome: Playing  accurate to the fluff like it or not IT WAS a Massacre at Bellerophon's Fall. Secessionist's won fair and  square with 4 points to our zero.Chris and Dan claim their first 4 campaign points for the secessionists and the first points of the campaign, well done! It was an awesome really enjoyable game, replaying a part of the 40k myth.
I would like to thank my fellow players Chris, Dan and David for they good spirits (heavy bolter does not do rending? :-)  )
Also I would like to thank Ben from GW Cambridge for painting the nice board we played on.

We are hopping to a reamatch at the end of the month with more paint on our armies and hopefully Ben will have painted the other 2 pieces of the board.
The battle was lost but not the war. I already have a game against Dan next Tuesday. You can arrange a game in store or on the facebook group. Score some points for your side or try dying!

p.s. When special characters die we roll a dice at the end of the game. Dan's exorsist and Davids Librarian have -1 ld for the rest of the phase. While Elam gets dragged out of the ruble without a scratch, lucky bugger!
