40k ork objective. Creating the objective

This is the description of the objective i wanted to build for my 40k flying army.
"On a terminator I will put a corner of a two storey high building. Upon it will be dangling a ork with his parashute caught on the building.
I will buy this http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat440265a&prodId=prod900120a and have a piece or rod from the building going through his chest.
And lastly the parashute will be made out of armies banners, blood angel grey knight, dark angel, ultramarines and  space wolfs. Which space marine would not try to reclaim their banner?"

Apologies for the photos i found it easy to open my mobile and take a quick snap.

The model's back, left leg and left arm are flat the back. So I cut of the arm and replaced it with a plastic one.

Plastic arm is pinned muzzle is drilled and I also placed a pin into his stomach.

Next up you can see the building

The building pieces got cut of with my dremmel to get the right size, then I drilled the back of the ork and the building and pinned together.

Next on is the banner.
I made a stamp of various space marine banners with Ge deo http://www.fredaldous.co.uk/model-shop/casting-modelling/silicone-rubber/gedeo-siligum.html (this is just a link showing the product, I buy it form my local craft store) I mixed green stuff and a bit of  milliput to create a rough shape parashute, then pressed in the stamp, and finaly sculpted the stiches. Once semi dry I placed it on my building piece.

For the base I placed an ork skull, will our paraboy meet the same fate?
Added some sand and placed atop a axe ( cut out the hand and replaced with plastic rod and green stuffed the handle.

So the parashute rips, he crash lands on top of some building ruins and gets impaled, at that point he drops his axe.

The parashute backpack I had made a while ago when I was trying some stuff out, it very nicely hides the flat back of the ork.

Once all of this was dry I started on the parashute ropes\cables.
I made thin rols of green stuff the used this http://www.masq-mini.com/aid-240-TubeTool-Set.html

After that I sprayed it black, air brushed it a few colous and now it is ready for some hand painting.

now you can make your own.

Is the painting bug back? My four pieces this month.

For a while now I have lost my painting mojo (painting creativity and desire). It seems this month I have started to regain it. I am preparing 4 pieces for some minor painting competitions, no prizes just for fun. I started them all in March. And I am hopping to complete them by the end of the month.

1st piece is for Greek warhammer Forum bimonthly competition, the subject fantasy unit filler.
The statue is from the GW grave terrain kit, I added 2 skeletons and 2 grave guard so it can be used either for skeletons units or graveguard. It took me 2 days, I am sure you can notice the airbrush effect.

2nd piece Greek warhammer forum painters league. Nakai the albino kroxigor.
This miniature is from trollforge. I will be use it as a blood thurster in storm of magic for my Lizardmen.

*These are old wip photos he is now almost done.

3rd piece Local GW competition.
These is new from my local GW store, paint 1 of the releases in the past month  to enter, they say there will be prizes, I would not hold my breath though, prove me wrong GW!

A friend has comisioned me to paint him some thunder wolfs this is one of them:
Still need to paint the rider but that can be achieved in one day.

And finaly piece 4 for Greek warhammer Forum bimonthly competition, the subject 40k objective.

I had 2 months ago this idea and expressed it on GWF,
"On a terminator I will put a corner of a two storey high building. Upon it will be dangling a ork with his parashute caught on the building.
I will buy this http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat440265a&prodId=prod900120a and have a piece or rod from the building going through his chest.
The parashute and the ork will be removable so i an place them on any piece of terrain I want.

And lastly the parashute will be made out of armies banners, blood angel grey knight, dark angel, ultramarines and  space wolfs. Which space marine would not try to reclaim their banner?

I will do a small wip post on how I made it, but this is how far i have gotten to.

I am pleased once again I can actualy turn idea into miniature.
Only thing is that it is not removable, I was afraid that way the cables would break off.

Hope you like it.
I will be taking better photos of all three at the end of the month.

4 years of 40k. Painted armies and grey models , armies in the pipeline. Part 3

I already have a chaos Marine Army but after reading more and more about the nightlords I felt compeled to create them on the table top. My first approch was to create them with space marine , chaos space marine and fantasy graveguard bits. Winged helmets and no demons was the plan. Does this make sence?

After reading Soul Hunter and Blood Reaver I reduced the winged helmets.

As you can see in all three pieces of book cover artwork, the spikey helmets are not used.
So my second attempts had less winged helmets.

Unfortunatly this army has only 1 painted rhino. And 15 nightlord marines half painted.

I have started working on the group of 6 main characters but I have lost my momentum and now this army is on freeze. Hopefully this summer I will get a few more done with a nice codex to back me up.
I am wating for the third book of the series to come out (void stalker- next month ) and new codex, then I will decide on my list. At this point it seems a unit of chosen 2 units of demonic raptors and pods. This is a justified army on hold.

4 years of 40k. Painted armies and grey models , armies in the pipeline. Part 2

Next up is an army mostly complete but need some finishing touches and a few additions, my Fire Hawks.

Still need to make a chaplain, finish the vehicles and maybe add some units where needed.
Pretty much though done.

Next come the nightlords.

My Tribute to 25 years of 40k.

This is what I painted for the store.
Its 3rd edition.
it was a fast paint job, but I am quite happy about the base, it looks a lot like the artwork.

4 years of 40k. Painted armies and grey models , armies in the pipeline. Part 1

First of all I have only been painting playing 40k for 4 years the previous 2 I only painted played Lizardmen, nothing else for me existed.
1st 40k Army I ever did was a slanesh themed space marine army. We were supposed to do a tale of 4 gamers all chaos marine but with a diferent god. Only I finished the army the others called quits.
1750p of slannesh

After that I spread out to the orks
for 40k in 40min
warboss/lootas/ nobs/ greatchin
I realy enjoy them so I expanded on my ork,
Commandos

Tankbustas

Chlick to see the freehand I did on the coca cola bottle.

If that was not enough I want to make my orks into a flying army.
So I made parashute boyz.

 Still all unpainted. :-(
